Dallas Highlights

There are many interesting places in Dallas, Texas that are worth visiting when you stop by for holiday. This article will highlight some of many places for you and when if you do visit the city, why not check them out?
Fair Park is one of the city’s most prized historical landmarks and is widely known for being Dallas’s largest cultural center. It was built in built in 1880 and consists mainly museums, amphitheaters, music halls and parks. There are many events held here annually, and some of those include the famous AT&T Cotton Bowl Football game and the Dallas Summer Musicals.
The West End in Dallas is one of the more historical places in the city, with over 80 stores and 40 restaurants. One of the more popular way of seeing the West End is taking a carriage ride because it give you an opportunity to see everything there at a much slower pace. The Grassy Knoll, the Sixth Floor Museum and the famous courthouse “Old Red” are a few interesting stop here.
The Deep Ellum is a former warehouse district. It is located at the east of the downtown area and is one of the hippest places to go in Dallas. There are more than 40 clubs, galleries, shops and restaurants located within this district.
Reunion Tower is a 50-storey structure and has graced the Dallas downtown skyline for more than two decades. It was opened in 1978, two years after the construction began and only five years after its conception. The triangle formations of the structural cylinders encase the elevators that carry passengers to the top levels in 68 seconds. For those that like to try climbing, an 837-step stairwell is located in the middle of the tower. Over 200 lights add shimmer to the geodesic dome, which can be programmed to form an infinite number of patterns. Some of the more famous include “The Electric Moon,” “Texas Raindrops” and “Dallas Disco Fever.” The Lookout is the lowest of the upper levels and provides both an indoor and outdoor observation area. Visitors can view many points of interest throughout the Dallas area from 360-degrees.
