How To Fit Exercise into Your Busy Day
June 17th, 2008
Most of our daily life revolves around work, family, social life and commuting and it is very common that exercise often takes a back seat. The common excuse that we give ourselves for not exercising is often a lack of time.
However, research suggests that those who does not exercise regularly are more likely to fall sick easily and exposing themselves to a higher risk of illness. So, it is important that we exercise regularly to keep ourselves healthy.
With the busy lifestyle and time constraints, readjusting daily routine to reserve a timeslot for exercise might be difficult for some people. The perfect solution will be fitting exercise into your daily routine and hence, eliminating the needs to make changes or adjustment to your daily routine.
Below are three tips on how you can fit exercise into your daily routine:-
1. Exercise at Home
Wake up 30 minutes earlier than your normal time. If you are used to wake up at 7am, change it to 6.30am. Spend about 20 minutes of this time to do some exercise. It can be a brisk walk or light jogging around your neighborhood, some simple workout on your treadmill or cross-trainer or even aerobic and stretching. Try to do this at least three times weekly and that you will be able to see how beneficial exercise can be.
2. Exercise at office.
If your office is at a higher floor, try to use the stairs instead of the lift or elevator. Of course, if you are on the 30th floor, don’t act smart and try to climb from level 1 to there; you will be tired out and sweating all over. Try about 5 floors. So, assuming if you are on the 30th floor, get off at 25th and walk up the stairs to your office.
Alternatively, during your lunch time, you can also take a short walk of about 30 minutes around your office.
3. Exercise with family.
When you spend time with your family, do some sports. Don’t spend all your time watching movies or playing console games. Try swimming, cycling, or any sports that can build up your relationship and at the same time, exercise.
Fitting exercise into your daily routine is as simple as that. It just takes a minor changes to what you are used to doing and it don’t takes up a lot of your times either. A short thirty minutes exercise daily will help you in a long way toward a healthier lifestyle.
All you got to do is to start doing it.
